Interior Architecture Design

MIND by MS Design, Wellness & Health

Conceptualization:

It is a fact that Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the United States, affecting nearly 40 million adults according to the Anxiety & Depression Association of America [ADAA].

On the other hand, there is so important to denote the fast growth of Wellness Tourism (merging of Wellness and the Hospitality industry) of 12.8% between 2015-2017, from a $3.7 trillion to a $4.2 trillion market.

In brief, the numbers prove and show us the great importance of the incentivization of Wellness Tourism and the great importance of taking care of Anxiety disorders in society. In that sense, my Interior Architecture Master´s Thesis project MIND, which means Mindfulness Interior Neurotransmitter Interior Design, aims to serve as an Interior Architecture design proposal that is able to cope with Anxiety disorder serving as a Wellness Tourism destination in Miami Beach.

Project Goals:

1. MIND, which means Mindfulness Interior Neurotransmitter Interior Design, aims to cope with Anxiety disorder and serve as a Wellness Tourism destination in Miami Beach.

2. Use Interior Design as a powerful tool that serves as a passive treatment to foster anxiety recovery through full immersion into an environment that stimulates the user’s brain neurotransmitters by implementing design theories.

3. Design a healing environment that helps the brain to get the user’s daily dose of brain chemicals that makes them feel good, relaxed, and in a positive mood at the same time.
